The Institute of Electronics Engineers of the Philippines – United Arab Emirates Chapter (IECEP UAE) under the auspices of the Embassy of the Republic of the Philippines in United Arab Emirates, had successfully hosted its 1st Technical Seminar and Induction of 2018 Chapter Officers, Board of Directors and SPLE Passers last January 26, 2018 at World Trade Center, Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Being reminded by the organization’s mission and vision, “To be a world-class organization of humane, competent, virtuous and globally-competitive electronics professionals” and “To be the showcase of professional and technical development and the paradigm of excellence in applying the principles of electronics technology to the advancement of humanity”, a special 2-session topic was organized to provide Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Programs for all its registered and licensed members around the Emirates. It is entitled “Management for Engineers – Real-World Approach” that was delivered by an outstanding engineer, a respected mentor and a former IECEP National President, Engr. Melvin C. Acosta, PECE. He mentioned that this is his second time to have this seminar in the chapter, with additional and updated modules, yet, still becomes an eye-opener to everyone. It applies to all fields of industry, especially in engineering. Moreover, it enlightened the minds of the members on some neglected views in management in an interactive way of tackling some case studies prepared by the resource speaker.
