Established in the Emirates on the year 2008, IECEP UAE is a duly accredited IECEP foreign-based chapter affiliated with the Institute of Electronics Engineers of the Philippines, Inc. with accreditation number I-APO Accreditation No.13, Series 2008. It is a non-stock and non-profit organization founded by world class Electronics Engineers that shares the same vision and mission of the institute that it represents. It is a showcase of dedicated, high caliber individuals in multifaceted industries namely; telecommunications, electronics, broadcasting, military and defense, automation, control sector, IT and computers, etc.

Since its inception, IECEP UAE Chapter has been recognized as an active member of the Bayanihan Council, the umbrella of all registered Filipino organization, under the auspices of the Embassy of the Republic of the Philippines in Abu Dhabi. It’s always been committed to support the activities of the Philippine Embassy, specifically on this year’s 118th Philippine Independence Day Celebration held in Dalma Mall, wherein all of its officers and members participated on this annual community gathering, in commemoration of the Philippine Declaration of Independence from Spain on June 12, 1898.

IECEP UAE is also a founding member of the Philippine Professional Organization in United Arab Emirates, PPO-UAE (formerly known as Filipino Profession Group, FPG)  – the umbrella organization of all Accredited Professional Organizations (APOs) with mother chapters in the Philippines duly accredited by the Professional Regulations Commission (PRC).  With the mandate of the PRC to conduct Special Professional Licensure Board Examination (SPLBE) in the Middle East every year, through the assistance of Philippine Overseas Labor Office (POLO), IECEP UAE took this as an opportunity to help its members aspiring to be licensed Electronics Engineer (ECE) and Electronics Technician (ECT) without leaving their employer and returning to the Philippines. The chapter has been assisting its SPLBE applicants in the processing and submission of PRC application forms, certificates and records, and other necessary documents that may be required to qualify and sit for the board exam. The SPLBE Review Session has been successfully implemented this year, making it one of the organization’s major program and advocacy. IECEP UAE facilitated the review classes from January 2016 to September 2016, being conducted every Friday regularly in Abu Dhabi to support its under board members, with the help of in-house review instructor and previous board passers who had volunteered to share their time and expertise. Since the SPLBE started on 2009, IECEP UAE has been able to produce 8 ECEs and 16 ECTs with a good passing percentage and were expecting new batch of license professionals as we awaits for this year’s board exam result that will be released on the last week of October 2016.

Being a professional organization, the institute is a key partner in providing enhancement programs to meet the demands of the ASEAN integration, advancing the competitiveness of its professionals. IECEP UAE with its officers and members attended the recently concluded 3rd IECEP International Convention, held in Manama Bahrain on September 30 and October 01, 2016. It was fully represented by the foreign affiliated chapters in the Gulf Region namely Bahrain, KSA-CRC, KSA-ERC, KSA-WRC, Qatar and UAE. The said event was attended by the PRC Board of Electronics Engineering (BECE) headed by the Chairman, Dr Alnar Detalla and distinguished officials from IECEP National including the current President Engr Jose Carlos Reyes. A total of eight aspiring PECE and one ASEAN Engineer applicant from UAE completed their documentation and undergone panel interview hoping for a positive result that will be released soon this end of the month.

For the last eight years, IECEP UAE has been a household name through its numerous activities that has aimed to support the community and has proven its worth as an institution with the unwavering dedication of its voluntary leaders. It has played a significant role in promoting professional development and competence among its members, ensuring its true commitment to its mission, vision and core values.
